Traditional Tibetan Healthcare

This is an ancient system of healing which uses pulse diagnosis and treats with diet, lifestyle advice, massage, and gentle herbal remedies. His Holiness Dalai Lama, who relies on Tibetan medicine to maintain his health, says that its special strength is in helping with chronic ailments.

You do not need to be sick to consult a Tibetan doctor: taking the doctor's advice helps to maintain good health by preventing the energy imbalances which cause illness.

Doctors

All our doctors have been fully trained by  the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute (Men Tsee Khang)
which was set up by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1961 to preserve the ancient Tibetan tradition of
healing. Its research branch also studies and develops new remedies in response to world needs. Tibetan medicine is becoming more popular around the world and especially in the USA, UK, Europe & New Zealand.

Dr Jigme has worked as the sole charge doctor in Men Tsee Khang clinics in Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, remote Tuting, Arjuni in the Maharashtra state of India, New Delhi and now Mumbai. He has completed further studies on Acupuncture. In 2015, 2016, 2018 & 2024, Dr Jigme carried out working tours of New Zealand.

Remedies

Our remedies are made from herbs gathered in the Himalayas by and under the supervision of
trained Tibetan doctors. In the past they were always made from wild herbs, but since the
worldwide demand for Tibetan remedies has grown so large, some herbs are being cultivated now for use
as medicines.
